What You Need to Know Before Getting an Immigrant Visa

According to USCIS, a permanent resident or conditional resident of the U.S. must return within one year to maintain their citizenship status. And if you plan to stay out for more than a year, you will need to apply for re-entry to USCIS.

Diversity Immigration Visa

It is like a lottery to obtain a permanent resident in the United States. In this visa, the department makes limited offers to register for diversity immigrant visas. They publish details for obtaining a diversity visa on their website. These entries must be submitted electronically during the period indicated on the Electronic Diversity Visa website as late, and paper entries are not accepted.

Medical Exam

An immigrant visa applicant has to undergo a medical examination two weeks before the interview. Embassy approved physicians bring test results to the embassy before the scheduled interview date of each applicant.
